I love May! Every year a wealth of dance comes to town as part of the Dublin Dance Festival. There's such a great buzz around and it's fantastic to see so many new dancers, artists and presenters every day. So far, we've done half of our performances, both for Re-Presenting Ireland and our sneaky peak showings of Rex Levitates Fast Portraits. I've also been able to see some fantastic work including Jerome Bel's piece Cedric Andrieux which I just loved for it's honesty and humour alone. Tonight I'm seeing Cloud Gate Dance Theatre from Taiwan, and I can't wait to see Fearghus O'Conchuir's work Tabernacle tomorrow.
In the middle of all the madness, I'm in the studio with Rex Levitates this week working on re-hashing an old piece Their thoughts are thinking them which we will be performing as part of a double bill with Fast Portraits in June.
Next week, I'm off to Boston and Vermont to meet with dance artists and presenters there and to share our ideas from across the water. Lucky me!
