The past three weeks have been brilliant in parts and pretty unpleasant in others!! I'm certain that's not how Junk Ensemble's previous dancer's have felt about the creative process, but this is nothing to do with the wonderful Kennedy twins, or their current co-director Jo TImmins. It's to do with working in the basement of Europe's oldest standing Victorian jail... and let me tell you it's grim, dark, cold and creepy. Kilmainham Gaol plays the leading character in Junk Ensemble's ambitious new work 'Bird with Boy' which opens tomorrow evening as part of the Dublin Absolut Fringe Festival. The audience is in for a real treat with a fantastic cast of young boys aged 8 - 13, as well as professional dancers Eddie Kay, Justine Cooper and myself. The basement of the Gaol has been transformed by designers Val Reid and Dave Fagan, and music is provided by the ever brilliant Tom Lane and Bryan O'Connell.
Performances from the 12th - 20th September, 7.30pm
